3D printing for students

Marcel van Dijk and Jutta Wirth gave an introduction to 3D printing and laser cutting at FabLab of Wageningen University & Research Campus. More than 50 high school students of the high school Pantarijn within their international student exchange program with students from Hungary, Gödöllö, got an insight into the 3D printing and 2D laser cutter techniques. We were very pleased with the students coming from Török Ignáz high school of Gödöllö and their teachers Ágnes Szedmák and Jocelyn Irvine visiting the FabLab Wageningen at Wageningen University and Research. What can you do with 3D printing, laser cutting, engraving, and sticker cutting? Thinking about making prototypes or packaging prototypes? You can use 3D printing for fast fabrication of prototypes. FabLab Wageningen (Fab Lab= Fabrication laboratory) is offering digital fabrication and other flexible computer-controlled tools that cover several different length scales and various materials with the goal to make almost anything. The FabLab Wageningen at Wageningen University & Research Campus is open every Saturday from 14.00 to 18.00. Seize the opportunity to make your acquaintance with the various techniques used here in a guided tour of the Fablab. You’ll see examples from biology, medicine and other disciplines.
